Welcome to my Mandarin Orange Monday post, linked with Macro Monday 2.
I'm featuring another quilt, I posted one for Blue Monday as well. I like the sunbursts, and also that they are randomly arranged, I find them intriguingly dynamic.
And of course some gratuitous flower photos Echinacea getting started-
And going stellar-
Crocosmia 'Mont Bretia' clump-
Or cameras are macro.

Very interesting quilt pattern, and the flower photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and comment on my blog post - Okra.

Lea's Menagerie
The guppies were made of lots of different small pieces of fabric. Very intricate. That may be the creator in the photo, I'm not sure. I adore Okra, having a S.C. mom.
DeleteThe quilt is very pretty and the flowers are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gunilla. I liked your amazing ant and aphid photos.
DeleteI like your quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm a quliter myself and enjoy new patterns.
This one was new to me.
Have a nice day.

Thanks, Annemor. It's quite original, I'm sure. I'm a Mormor too.:-)
DeleteWOW! That quilt is gorgeous! And so are the flowers. When I had time for weaving, knitting, and fiber dying, I would often use nature photos for my color inspirations. What better place to get stunning combinations?
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any quilting but keep meaning to do some for a winter project. The fish are amazing.
DeleteOops, the fish are in the quilt on my other post for Blue Monday,

Gorgeous photos! I love Echinacea :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I grew these from seed. I may try to grow the white ones next year, I found out they are fragrant.
ReplyDeleteI love that quilt! Did you make it? I can't sew a straight line, so I admire those who can. The blooms are lovely, too! I had to laugh when you mentioned on my blog that I don't have weeds to contend with. I actually do, but I try to pull them out before they get too big. I am behind in weeding across the street, and will have some pretty good sized ones to contend with when I get a chance to get over there. I have had other commitments the last week or so, and for the next few days.
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't make it, that quilt and the other one on the linked post are from the local county fair. I'm thinking of doing quilting during the winter but haven't taken the plunge. I meant persistent evergreen weeds like the 3 kinds of blackberries I have, plus the deep-rooted thistles and the dock which when I tried to have a natural meadow came up by the hundreds... I actually had to work outside a lot last winter because I was trying to clear weeds from some areas but it didn't work, the blackberry vines are so hard to get rid of. Mowing seems the only way, and there are tree stumps that prevent mowing, plus areas of Salal and Oregon Holly grape I would like to maintain but the native blackberry is so hard to dig out and keeps coming up in them, and so does Thimbleberry, which at least doesn't have thorns. I also had a terrible amount of cleavers last winter draping everything, and big stands of Horsetail rushes have been coming up too, I have 2 acres and part is rather wild. Buttercups have taken over big parts of the wild part too. Even mowing doesn't take care of them, they send out runners and spread really fast... Arggh. So yes I envy people with normal lots.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I love the bright colors of the blooms you've shared here! That quilt is fantastic and seems to mimic the plants you've chosen to highlight.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I was impressed with that quilt, I'm not sure I would want to sew all the little triangles.
DeleteBeautiful post - the quilt is has such interesting colours and shapes - the flowers have the most amazing colour combinations - and details too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing on Mandarin Orange Monday. Sorry I am so late...no internet connection all week :(
Thanks for visiting and hosting. There are a lot of posts to visit! I seem to have a lot of orange in the garden this year.
DeleteAh, montbretia! My mother used to be fond of that!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is lovely, and really rather reminiscent of mandarins!
I love quilts that are like a painting...just marvelous.
