Garden Blogger's Bloom Day, November 15, 2013

Welcome to "What's Blooming Now?"    To see what is blooming in other gardens now see hostess Carol's May Dreams Gardens blog.

There is still one rose blooming, usually it is more at this time, Sea Foam, an excellent "ground cover" type rose.

Another blushing white flower is Camellia sasanqua 'Apple Blossom', which took quite a few years to begin blooming for me but now has quite a few blossoms.  'Yuletide', bought at the same time, has yet to bloom.   Maybe someday,

My new this year Hydrangea macrophylla 'Endless Summer' seems to be living up to its name, still bringing forth flower buds, and retaining the old flowers.   It looked a little bedraggled after planting but
will hopefully put on some growth next year and look more upright.   It is supposed to be hardy for zones 4-9.   All my old Hydrangeas died a couple of years ago from an unusual cold snap.

Also still blooming are Geranium Rozanne, Alpine strawberries, Rosemary, etc.  The days are getting shorter and shorter, brrr.    I'll be glad when they start getting longer again.  Hannah

  1. Beautiful - especially the Camellia!
I would be interested to know how your peas are doing.
You should check you link at May Dreams Gardens. When I clicked on it, it did not work. You may have to re-enter it or get Carol to fix it for you.
    Have a wonderful week-end!

    1. Thanks, Lea, I went back to May Dreams Gardens and did a second link, I don't know if Carol will delete the first one. I am so happy to have my Apple Blossom blooming, I wish Yuletide would. It didn't seem to even make any buds.

  2. I've considered getting an 'Endless Summer.' I think I'm going to give it a try.

    1. I can't say I was impressed with it after planting, the branches were kind of long and more trailing than upright. I have hopes for it looking much better next year. I am impressed that it has new flower buds on it now.

  3. While I had hydrangea at our former house, I've yet to introduce any at our current one; however 'Endless Summer' is becoming increasingly tempting. I'll watch to see how yours fares next year.

    1. I'm also interested in Hydrangea paniculata, so I may try one next year. I'm not really a fan of white flowers but I guess some turn pink as they age. Blue would be my first choice of color but I don't know what super hardy Hydrangeas are blue.

  4. I love your Camellias. I live near a public garden called Descanso that has many Camellia trees. They are so beautiful to photograph. I would love to have one someday. In the meantime I'll admire yours! :)

    1. Thanks, Danielle, It's great to have a Camellia sasanqua, they actually like to bloom in cold weather. I like your name, my daughters' names end in lle.

    1. Thanks, Donna. I missed a couple of Yarrows blooming. I'm disappointed my Eryngium leavenworthii's , which are annuals, have not made it yet. I don't know if they still can.
