    1. The light blue iris is really frilly. The bridesmaids carried calla lilies in my son's wedding.

  5. My lemon daylilies are blooming, too. I just love them. I like that you've pruned your rhododendrons to show off their branches. I think this should be done with any rhododendron big enough for it.

    1. Thanks, Evan, after I realized they had such cool twisty branch structure I trimmed all that I could, there were one or two that weren't suitable.

    1. Thanks, Eileen, I have a lot of trees so have to cram some flowers in here and there. I'm grateful for the irises that continue to bloom, and the columbines that bloom more and more. I don't know why the little damsel was so subdued.

    1. Thanks, Rainfield, your mushrooms do seem to come back well. Some flowers become more abundant, some do quietly disappear. I'm grateful for the ones that like it here.

    1. I only remember Rose of Sharon and hollyhocks in my grandma's garden. I love the columbines, they seem to hybridize many colors, and spread by themselves, though I have done some seed-scattering.

  17. Dearest Hannah; Callas and Irises are common and I can enjoy its beauty around my area but you made me wish to see 'Lemon Lily' :-) Lupines have unique long shape and pretty♡♡♡ And I feeling happy that I can post Rhododendrons from city park (haha, not from my house) later in my post .
My husband loves dragonflies and have much knowledge than I p:-)

    1. Thanks, dearest Miyako. The Lemon Lily is related to regular daylilies but a different species and so blooms earlier, and is more scented, it really does smell like lemons. The Rhododendrons here were all planted by former owners, and are very big now, since I've been living here 20 years and they were already fairly big when I came. I could just wish for a couple of more reds and purples, there are too many pinks.

    1. Thanks ShellE, I was reluctant to grow them since wild lupines really spread here, and I noticed lots of seedlings coming up in one bed, so I hope I'm not in trouble.

    1. Thanks, Betty, last fall we were in the opposite seasonal changes, I got to see your spring blooms as things were fading out here. Blogging in two hemispheres, yes! What would it be like to spend only spring and summer here then move to New Zealand for another spring and summer? Perhaps then I would come to miss fall and winter, I don't know.
