Tulip Praestans unicum variegata, which is my longest lasting species tulip, coming back every year and looking smashing, but not seeming to multiply.
My favorite venue for shopping plant bargains from a lot of nurseries, the Home and Garden Fair, here an exhibit with typical Pacific Northwest landscaping and a nice cozy fire ring that would feel good right now. I saw people building these on YouTube but also read that concrete could break down or explode from the moisture in the bricks getting hot, so don't know if this design really works long-term, though it is very neat looking-

Hi Hannah,
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of looking at blue blooms.
Happy Blue Monday!
Thanks, Sally, the Borage family certainly has a lot of true blue.
DeleteLovely blooms, super fire pit, and the hat!!! my favourite colours all there in blues. Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean, I couldn't decide on materials for a fire pit so I still don't have one. I like to mix colors up on hats.
DeleteI am looking forward to spring too. That Anchusa flower is such a beautiful vibrant blue.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alison, they are a very deep blue. Unfortunately they get rather tall and flop. I'll have to try cutting it back this year.
DeleteNice flower photographs.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lady Lilith. I can't wait to see them again, plus all the new flowers I have started already that are growing under my lights.
DeleteVery nice pictures, exquisite flowers, shot with delicious delicacy!

DeleteThanks, Leovi, I always enjoy your artistic endeavors.
Superb blue captures!
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to visit with you!
Thanks, Lola, I hope to have a lot of blues again this year.
DeleteBeautiful offerings this week Hannah! Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laura, It's cheery to see the orange Geums, I hope to have even more orange flowers this year.
DeleteBeautiful photo,s, love that blue
ReplyDeleteThanks, Riet, it is really a deep blue, and I like the little magenta fringe in the center. They are actually very small flowers though.
DeleteLove the blue color!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susie, blue looks good with all the other flower colors.
DeleteBeautiful photos! Nice post!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Birgitta!
DeleteExploding concrete sounds very scary! The flower photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, the curved bricks do make a lovely fire ring though. I don't know for a fact that they explode, it was just something I read. People do make fire rings from them. I guess it is safer to line a fire ring with fire brick.
DeleteGreat images Wendy! 66 days That sounds good, but we are only 1/2 way thorough ours. ;-(
ReplyDeleteI too can´t wait spring to come :) Love your flowers and the hat looks wonderful too!! ♥ Conny
ReplyDeletePiaroms Art Journaling
Thanks, Pia. We had nice sunny weather for a couple of days, that happens most years in January and tricks the plants into trying to grow too soon.
DeleteHi Hannah
ReplyDeleteI am so late getting here this week the good news is that you only have 59 days left till spring! Sorry for the brief visit but as you know life's been hectic!!!
I would love the firepit as long as the bricks don't explode!!!
Wren x
Thanks, Wren, I'm trying to make decisions about cell phone plans and eroded all my time to write a blog this week.
