It's time to see what is blooming now for Garden Blogger's Bloom Day, with hostess Carol. Many flowers are 2-4 weeks early.

The lilac is blooming, perfuming the air,
and even more fragrant, Daphne tangutica, blooming its heart out-
The gorgeous mounds of native Trilliums have been blooming for a while and have faded to magenta, here in my second shade garden-
The Anemone nemorosa alba has also fade magenta-

The Geums are blooming, as well as the Pulmonarias, Hellebores, and Daffodils, and the apples, pears, and plums have been blooming a few weeks. I like regular Tulips, but the squirrels and voles get most of the developed hybrid varieties, but don't bother some species tulips that have lasted me quite a few years, T. batalini 'Bright Gem', here with some Ajuga spikes-

Spring is exciting once it gets going, and it seems some flowers are 2-4 weeks earlier than previous years. What is blooming for you? -Hannah

Wow, an explosion of beauty and colour....love the bed of anemones, they've been a favourite since childhood.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly most blooms here are about 2 weeks late this year, which is surprising because we have had a very mild winter.Maybe they need some frost to get them going!
Happy weekend Hannah!
Ruby
Thanks, Ruby, I can try to imagine what an artist like you could do with my spring flowers. I hope they start blooming better for you.
DeleteBlooming its heart out, and perfuming the air.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a scene in a fairy tale.
I do feel like I live in fairyland when the spring flowers get going, they have a wild party to celebrate the passing of winter.
DeleteThat camellia is gorgeous, as are all your other blossoms.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dorothy, I politely neglected to photograph the sidewalk underneath.

ReplyDeleteLovely blooms! I especially like the blues and yellows
Have a great week-end!
Lea
Thanks, Lea, blues and yellows are definitely in the minority.
DeleteLovely shades everywhere, and so much more to come as your days warm up.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jean, so many things left to bloom! It's been cold, Jean, but next Monday is supposed to reach 87ºF / 30ºC. I don't like to be out in the garden in the middle of the day in that!
DeleteYour garden is gorgeous! I love the lilacs and the columbines. My grandmother had lots of both. I didn't have the opportunity to go out the last two weekends and yesterday I was surprised to find that I've almost missed some of the early bloomers. I need to start visiting the park weekly again. Have a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gunilla, my parents didn't have time to garden much so my grandparents were my gardening inspiration too. I hope you have warmer weather, it is getting a little too warm tomorrow!
DeleteThanks, Nora, during the long winter it seems spring will never come, but here it is in all its glory!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely visual Hannah, your garden must be an incredible sight with all the beautiful flowers. Thank you so much for sharing with Today's Flowers, and enjoy the rest of your week :)
